What’s a Honu?

My friend Rachele sent me a message asking about our baby. She said we need to name your little bean. I got home and the first thing out of my mouth to Jason was what do we call our little bean? The first thing out of his mouth was Honu. He said “Honu means turtle in Hawaiian. Our little baby is swimming around in your tummy. It was so sweet. I bet he had already been thinking about a nickname.

12 WEEKS AND OUR 2ND DOCTORS APPOINTMENT.

Here’s a picture of me at 12 weeks:

The heartbeat is 171. Morning sickness has stopped. Let’s hope it’s for good. The doctor did say I might be getting headaches. I’m praying I don’t. Not really much going on. We did take a gender pee test from HEB and it was not very clear as to Boy or Girl. I think it looks like girl and Jason thinks boy. So we will see in 8 weeks. September 16th we will be able to find out the sex. When I told the doctor we took the test he said he likes the test where you look between the legs.

How your baby's growing:
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

WEEK 9

Here's a picture of the baby at 9 weeks and 5 days.

How I'm feeling:
Morning sickness has kicked in Nausea and dizziness. All I want to do is sleep on the weekends I take a nap about 1pm. I can't stand the heat and we all know TEXAS' heat is bad but its horrible while pregnant.

How your baby's growing:

Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.

Baby on Board

May 28, 2010 I received a call from our doctor’s office
YOU’RE PREGNANT!!!!!
I was in shock... really it has finally happened??? I called Jason and told him the great news.

Let me back up for a moment. We have been trying to get pregnant for 6 years. We were seeing a Reproductive Endocrinologist. So the call we were to get on the 28th was a yes or no. So I would have loved to surprise Jason with the pee test stick or put a bun in our oven and say look in here.

Planning our family

more to come on this long journey

1 Samuel 11
"O LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant's misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head."

Our favorite things

Our animals: Cooper, Chloe, Shiner & Mama (cow). We have huge hearts for animals. These are our babies.
One of the things we love the most is traveling. Every year we travel to a different state. We are not your normal tourist. We get of the beaten path as much as possible.

I've been everywhere, man

Crossed the deserts bare, man

I've breathed the mountain air, man

Of travel I've had my share, man

I've been everywhere

Speaking of songs. We love music. Especially artist from our great state Texas.

Eli Young, Randy Rogers, Josh Abbott, CCR, Wade Bowen, Reckless Kelly and many many more. ok so some of these guys are not born in Texas but I know they got here as fast as they could.

We hit as many concerts as we can.

We do love Christian music, old school, rap, rock, country & dance music.

We are apart of the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo. Im in a buyers group called LIPS. We raise money to buy animals at the auctions. Jason was in the calf scramble in 1996 and we still have Mama his catch.
